Kozmo

I rescued Kozmo, formerly Henry, from a couple who were about to return him back to the Pound. They originally
got him from the Pound when he was about a year old, and had him about 2 years. He came to me totally shut down, both physically
and emotionally. He would not eat or have any contact with me whatsoever; someone in his past obviously had terribly abused
Kosmo as any noise or sudden move sent him cowering.
I have had Kozmo for almost a year now and he has really started to come into his own. He LOVES
the outdoors and is a very willing participant to walk anywhere you want to go. He can heal by your right side but also loves
to sniff, and sneeze, at the ground. He is very playful, and especially loves to play kibble-toss, the spinning game and roll
the tricky treat ball all around the house. He has been in doggie training with Superior Dog Training (http://www.privatedogtraining.com) for several months, and is now much more comfortable around people, although he prefers to be the greeter, rather
than being greeted. He tends to ignore other dogs and animals.
I am moving across the country and am unable to take Kozmo with me. I would love to see him in a home with
a big yard for him to stretch his legs, and a loving owner who can continue to bring him into his joy. He is a very unique
and beautiful soul.
Kozmo
just had all of his shots updated and is on heartworm medication and Frontline. I have a year's supply of heartworm medication
and other doggie stuff to help in the transition.
If you are interested

Floyd Life as a male underwear model can
be draining - just ask Floyd. After doing the rounds at Milan, Paris and New York, Floyd needed a change of pace. In a move
that shocked the international modeling world (and pretty much jump started David Beckham's career in modeling Armani
tighty-whities!), Floyd threw in the towel and retreated from the public's gaze. Floyd longed for the day when someone
would look past his amazing physique and instead see the gentle, sometimes scared little boy that was trapped in this Adonis-like body. That day came when Floyd was in the unlikeliest of places for a super model - in a ditch, on the side of
the road in Durham County, NC. It was from there that he was picked up and whisked off to a sanctuary of anonymity. Oh the
joy of running and playing and not caring if he got muddy or had grass stains on his white patches!! The freedom and the food
- oh the food - no more counting calories or grueling daily workouts to maintain his figure. In this oasis, brimming with
other fur-covered creatures with questionable pasts, he ate till he was finally full and turned his attention to enjoying
the simpler things in life...like mastering the art of playing fetch. The End..... From Floyd's Foster Mom: OK, well that's
the last time I ask a dog to write their own bio!! Seriously Floyd - an underwear model?? The TRUE low down on Floyd is as
follows: he's about 2 years old, healthy as a horse, successfully treated and recovered from heart worm infection, extremely
affectionate, great with cats and good with most dogs. But hey - if I'd led with that he would have sounded like most
other dogs out there...and you wouldn't still be reading! So now that I have your attention, let me tell you more. Floyd
has been assessed by a trainer and came through with a glowing report card. He is a very typical young adolescent pit bull.
He is stubborn but very smart, dominant but willing to listen to a strong leader, fine to be around other dogs, but only dogs
that can match his strength and won't be intimidated by his rough play. Like a lot of pit bulls, Floyd doesn't always
know when enough is enough - therefore he should NEVER be left unattended with another dog. You know the saying: it's
all fun and games until someone starts crying! Well, most times it's Floyd that ends up crying when the other dog has
had enough of his exuberance. Therefore, careful monitoring of any playtime is essential. Floyd is 100% house-trained, crate-trained
and leash-trained. He is exceptionally well-behaved and is an excellent guard dog....but don't think you're going
to leave him outside to guard your property. Floyd has had it with being an outside dog, and now that he knows how comfortable
a couch can be, he won't be satisfied being left outside alone! Floyd needs to go to a home that understands the breed
and understands that they require training, vigilance and gentle authority throughout their life. Floyd is a smart, powerful
young man and it is my responsibility - and the responsibility of his future owner - to make sure that he never gets himself
into trouble. Only someone prepared to continue his obedience training will be considered for his adoption. Floyd is living
in Durham, NC and will only be adopted within NC. If you'd like to learn more about Floyd - and let's face it, you
do, don't you?? - please contact me at alportbury@yahoo.com
